The Honourable Dr. Arthur T. Porter sworn into the Private Council
At aceremony swearing-inat Rideau Hallin Ottawain September 2008, the Governor General of Canada, Her Excellency the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean, appointed Dr. Arthur T.Porter,Director General and CEO of the McGill University Health Centre, the Privy Council for Canada.
Whereas the Prime Minister has consulted the Leader of the Opposition in the House of Commons and the leader of each party thereto have at least twelve Members;
Therefore, on the recommendation of Prime theMinister,under section 34 of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service Act, Her Excellency the Governor General in Council appoints the Honourable Arthur ThomasPorter,PC, of Montreal (Quebec), Chairman of the Supervisory Committee ofactivities intelligenceduring good behavior for a term of five years with effect from 24 June 2010. 
The swearing-in ceremony

The private consultants assist and advise the Government of Canada on national and international issues such as legislation, government policies or other issues that concern the country.
Dr. Arthur T. Porter's extensive international experience in management positions in the fields of business, medicine and education in Canada, Europe, Africa and the United States. He has worked as a consultant for the World Health Organization, in addition to participating in the development of medical programs internationally. It also acts as a member of severalboards,including Air Canada.
Later the same day, the Prime Minister of Canada, the Right Honourable Stephen Harper appointed the Honourable Dr. Arthur T. Porter at Security Intelligence Review Committee (SIRC). The five members of SIRC review and evaluate the reports on the national security of Canada.

M. Stephen Harper may indeed advise the Governor General David Johnston to strike the name of Mr. Arthur T. Porter of the current list of members of the Privy Council, a select group of Canadians who are serving or have served the state in a variety of important functions, including those of the prime minister and cabinet members, confirmed to La Presse source the Office of the Privy Council.
Mr. Arthur T. Porter, who lives in the Bahamas, is currently the subject of an arrest warrant from the Unité permanente anticorruption (UPAC) in respect of illegal dealings between SNC-Lavalin and the MUHC and personal friend of the Premier of Quebec Philippe Couillard . Both have international experience in scams.
But the Prime Minister's Office refused to comment on the status of Mr. Arthur T. Porter. "This case is before the courts. So it would be inappropriate to comment, "said Carl Vallée, spokesman Arthur T. Harper.

Privileges for life
The Dr. Arthur T. Porter name appears still in the "current alphabetical list of members of the Queen's Privy Council for Canada," according to the website of the federal government.
The members of the Privy Council retain lifetime privileges, can we also read it. They carry the title "Honourable" for life and use the initials "CP".
